Say 'No Mas' to Oppression and Say Yes to Freedom of Speech and Expression!

No mas oppression! No mas censorship! No mas silence!

Change can start with two simple words…”No mas!”

What do you say, “No Mas” to?

Every day we express our opinions and without worry of consequence, especially those of us who write blogs or share on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

We know we can help change the world when we speak up for the causes we believe in. I have a button on my sidebar that says "Do More For No More" - which is for ending violence. I am thankful that here in America we are free to express ourselves but other countries don't always have such freedom.

And this is where NO MAS comes in.

We hear in the media every single day about people's freedom of expression being taken away.

Nabeel Rajab was imprisoned for Tweeting. The average Twitter user tweets 4 times a day and has the freedom to say anything they want but Bahrain is fighting words with weapons by imprisoning citizens for tweeting. You can say No Mas to oppression like this by signing the petition to free Nabeel Rajab in Bahrain. Help stop this oppression!

No Mas!

Marcos Máiquel and Lima Cruz was imprisoned for listening and dancing to hip hop music whose lyrics criticize the lack of freedom of expression in Cuba, again their freedom of expression taken away.

No Mas!

What about Malālah Yūsafzay, do you remember her? She is a pupil in Pakistan and education activist known for her education and women's rights activism in the Swat Valley, where the Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. In October of 2012, Malālah was shot in the head and neck in an assassination attempt by Taliban gunmen. She blogged about her life under Taliban rule but had to use a pseudonym.

No Mas!

We must channel our collective voice to push for the freedom and rights of these victims and say 'No Mas'!

What do you say 'NO MAS' to? I am passionate about a lot of crazy things, so I say no mas to the new gun banning talk. No mas GMO's. No mas HFCS. No mas growth hormones in our dairy and meat. No mas chemicals and dyes in our food. No mas vaccinations. No mas circumcision. No mas fluoride and chlorine in our water. No mas BPA in our plastics. And then I say no mas to a bunch of other goofy things like no mas Mondays. Oh and Friday's too haha. No Mas poopy diapers from a 3.5 year old daycare kid who's old enough to use a toilet. No mas lazy teens. No mas back talking teens. No mas tangles in Gracie's hair. No mas exhausted sleepy mama! No mas 7 month old using mama for a pacifier all night long! Want me to go on? I didn't think so haha!

  4. It is sad that some people can not say what they want, I try to watch what I write with every post I do, I could not imagine how they can handle writing and constantly looking over their shoulder.
