Products that Use Aborted Fetal Tissue: Pepsi, Kraft, Nestle and More

Disclaimer: This is not goingt to be a very popular post. But again, I feel it is something I need to share.

Earlier in the year I read an article about how the Pepsi Company is using aborted fetal tissue in their products for flavor enhancing research.

On Feb 28th, President Obama’s Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) ruled that PepsiCo’s use of cells derived from aborted fetal remains in their research and development agreement with Senomyx to produce flavor enhancers falls under “ordinary business operations.”

According to LifeSiteNews.com,
The letter signed by Attorney Brian Pitko of the SEC Office of Chief Counsel was sent in response to a 36-page document submitted by PepsiCo attorneys in January, 2012.  In that filing, PepsiCo pleaded with the SEC to reject the Shareholder’s Resolution filed in October 2011 that the company “adopt a corporate policy that recognizes human rights and employs ethical standards which do not involve using the remains of aborted human beings in both private and collaborative research and development agreements.”
PepsiCo lead attorney George A. Schieren noted that the resolution should be excluded because it “deals with matters related to the company’s ordinary business operations” and that “certain tasks are so fundamental to run a company on a day-to-day basis that they could not be subject to stockholder oversight.”
Being pro-life, I was saddened and disgusted by this news.

I just can not figure out why this world puts such little value on the life of our precious babies, but that is just my pro-life opinion.

Now yesterday I read another article that brought this all back fresh to me.

This article was titled, Avoid Any Products Containing Aborted Fetal Cells. This article goes into a bit more detail. Details like why there is such a demand for abortion.

Fetal tissue has been used for transplants and in vaccines for quite a while now but medical community is getting a little too excited and is claiming unlimited potential for fetal tissue technology. It is really just so disturbing.

Researchers say the timing of the abortion is important because a more matured fetus produces better fetal tissue. Most abortions take place between the sixth and eleventh week of pregnancy, but researchers are saying that fetuses that are fourteen to sixteens weeks are better and more valuable.

Again, this disgusts me.

PepsiCo's statement about all of this?

They say 'this will produce great tasting, lower-calorie beverages.'

  4. It's not true. There is no actual fetal tissue in the foods listed. What is taking place is questionable research. Senomyx a company that is creating flavors uses electedly aborted fetus kidney cells to develop flavor receptors. There is in fact no fetal tissue being consumed.

    1. Heidi if they place the receptors into your food or drink then yes you are consuming the fetal tissues.

    2. Cells... tissue... what's the difference? The concept is the same. Aborted babies are being used for this research and to ultimately improve product. Disgusting. And very sad.

    3. I am completely against it, but Trista there is no cells or receptors being placed in your food. I am actively against it, let me make that clear; but please, be educated on it so you can better fight it! The flavor company Senomyx, which is partnered with the above listed brands, developed what is basically a giant computerized tongue. It tastes the food and gives electronic readouts on exactly what senses the flavor will ignite in a human- therefore giving them an edge on their flavoring' Their "electronic tongue" is made up of human aborted cells derived from the kidney. They wire these cells to their computer and "taste" the food with these cells. Disgusting? Yes. Unacceptable? Absolutely. Aborted cells in our food? No.

  5. Some people are so blind...if any part of an aborted fetus goes into a product you're still consuming fetal tissues. Whether it be its toe or hair follicles. This makes me want to puke in my mouth...I will NEVER buy a product from any of these companies again. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've been wary of products due to GMO's but it seems there are worst things they are doing to our food.

  6. Omg! I have never heard of this before. I was checking my emails and came across yours and when I started reading it I had to know more of what is going on. I wanted to PUKE like everyone else. Why in the hell would fetal tissue make food and drinks taste good in the first place?? I am so sick to my stomach right now. I was eating before reading this and I had to stop because I actually almost puked! I'm in complete shock! Thank you for sharing this with me and thank you for letting me vent about this subject.

  7. We have been consumong animals and animal tissue since we came into existence. It is true that all living things consume other animals lower on the food chain than they are. It is about survival. If babies are being aborted by choice or medical necessity why eliminate an avenue that can help us cure disease or make life better for one or more groups of people. We have always made the most of what we have available to us. The difference here is that many people see these aborted fetuses as potential children even though many of these pregnancies would not make it through the entire gestation period. I do not advocate pregnancy strictly to create stem cells or other advances. However, if a couple aborts due to financial or health issues either relating to the mother or fetus we can learn from this and we should. This is clearly not a black or white issue but one with many gray areas. Keep your minds open and great things can happen that do not necessarily mean the end of society or our humanity.

    1. Consuming animals that God put here on this Earth [for us to eat] is so so much different than a research company purchasing dead babies that were ELECTIVELY killed... only to make a better tasting soda or bubble gum. WHAT is this world coming to?!?

  8. I have known about this for some time and abortions are BIG money for clinics. To know that babies are sold based on age and organ, or body part is sickening! Yes, I wrote baby, not fetus, not tissue because it is a baby from conception and deserves love and respect. I wish people would wake up and quit thinking abortion is a "right". They are being played for fools in my mind because they are paying someone to kill an innocent baby and then it is cut up and sold. Nothing about this is humane. I see more ads aimed at making people feel sorry for animals that are being put to sleep than a baby being ripped from the womb. Note, I do love animals and believe they deserve to live as well. Of course, the big problem next to abortion is companies willing to pay for these baby parts! If no one is making money then I don't think there would be as many innocent babies being killed. Why in the heck is a woman letting someone take something so precious from them, mutilate it and make a profit? Rant over even though I could keep going and thank you for bringing this to the attention of your readers!

    1. Very true, it's all for a buck. And yes, we (as a nation) put more value on animals than on our precious babies. Very sad.

  9. Assuming this is true, the "babies" have been aborted either way. So a big fat who cares. But y'all should still boycott Nestle, who has much greater sins. Maybe post about that, and how they are harming and causing the death of real, born babies.

    1. "Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born" -Ronald Reagan... so I am not surprised when people do not care about aborted 'babies'.

As for Nestle, I agree. Not a fan of Nestle and always did want to write about that topic... just never got around to it.

  10. Actually most of the diet sodas & fat free foods we buy have been tested through this Senomyx company. I think it's misleading to just say Pepsi, when clearly all of the major soda companies do it also. If you want to make sure to avoid it then do not drink diet drinks or eat unnaturally fat free/lowfat foods.
