Fun in the Sun… When it Comes Out Again!

Fun in the sun… when it comes out again!

Fun in the Sun

Summer seems a long way away. The perennially bleak weather serves as a constant reminder of that, but at this time of year, it seems like things could start to change for the better, which means we might be able to go outside again and enjoy ourselves without fear of slipping on ice or snow!

Although it’s going to be a while before we can think about what to do this summer, there’s plenty of time for you to plan what you could do, whether it’s on your own, with the kids or with friends. You might consider going out, but if you feel it’s a bit of a stretch, why not spend time in your garden instead?

Spending time in the garden might seem like a lazy thing to do, but if you don’t feel like spending hour after hour in the car heading to the nearest beach, why not make the most of your front or back lawn? There’s so much you could do in your garden if you decide to make it habitable, especially with the kids or friends when the weather’s nice.

Turning your back garden into a playground could work. Buy a slide, a seesaw and a sandpit and your kids will be entertained for days and days throughout the spring and summer, not to mention those early autumn days.

If they like to play soccer, you could always buy a net for them to play each other. They could even invite their friends for little tournaments, and will get some exercise too. If you have older kids who like to just talk to their friends, a patio set could work as it provides them with somewhere to sit.

Patio furniture would be complemented perfectly with patio awnings like you can find on here, as they provide shelter and a touch of elegance to your home. Once you have all you need to keep your family occupied this summer, you’re set!

If you’re still struggling to think about what you can do with the family in your garden, there are some great tips here which can make planning for the warmer weather a breeze. Then, you can relax as they wait for the sun to come out more often!

  2. I absolutely agree! Of course I have 13 acres of 'yard' to play in!! We spend a lot of time in our back pasture, as well as cleaning up and planting in our yard!

  4. During the nicer months when it is sunny and bright and warm outside we live outdoors. We have picnics on our back patio and play at the parks nearby and we love running through sprinklers. I cannot wait for spring and summer! As far as gardening is concerned, I need a lot more practice in this area. I have lived in a town home for too long and lawn upkeep is very new to me.
