Baby Jack is 7 months old now and finally at the point where he needs to be entertained a bit more. He's not a 'boring baby' who just lays around anymore haha. He's rolling a lot and trying to reach all of his toys.
I typically try to keep him moving from spot to spot every 15 minutes or so. He starts in the swing, but he doesn't like the particular swing we have so he doesn't last long. I then hold him and play with him for a while. After that, I might try him on the floor for tummy time and then when he gets sick of that, I will move him to his bouncy chair.
This routine is just fine but I thought he might like to be upright a bit more now that his back is getting stronger. He has been having his physical therapy regularly because his Down Syndrome causes him to have low muscle tone. His back is not as week as it used to be due to his regular growth along with his physical therapy. He still is not sitting by himself as a 7 month old should be, but he is definitely stronger. For this reason, I thought it might be time to try an activity center.

My Thoughts:
I LOVE the Entertain and Grow™ Saucer from Bright Starts because it has so much to do! The swivel seat lets him easily turn to any toys he wants. It has so many toys, Baby Jack goes from one thing to another and doesn't get bored. Oh and the extra loops is great, we can attach his favorite toys right to this activity center. So far he has not figured out how to work the cute froggy that spins the little balls, but once he does, he is going to love pushing that! I am also happy that this has 3 adjustable positions so that it grows with him. He will definitely get a lot of use out of this activity center!

Your little sweetie look like he's having a lot of fun in there! :) I've been thinking about getting a saucer for my baby girl. We borrowed one from a friend when we had our last baby and it helped keep her busy while we homeschooled but I had to give it back when we were done. This one looks like it's reasonably priced. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little boy--and he really does look like he is enjoying his new toy and seems to be very involved. Glad you found something that he obviously loves!!
