Update on My Baby Jack - He's Six Months Old Already!

I do a lot of photo sharing of my family because of being involved in "Wordless Wednesday" each week and also have lots of photos for review items... but I just realized that I don't have any real update of my Baby Jack.

Someone in one of my Facebook groups asked about us and so I thought I would post a photo of Baby Jack in my FB group and then write up a little update on how he's been doing. As I started going through photos... I could not decide which one to post. Of course then my dilemma was there are too many I want to share. So then I thought I would just make a quick college of maybe three or four photos... but again I could not decide on just three or four.

So I just decided to write a little update on Baby Jack here and that way I could include as many photos as I wanted :)

So let's see here... Baby Jack was 6 months old on December 21st!
I can NOT believe he's six months old already!
The time went by way too fast!

He's over 16 pounds now which is awesome considering he was born at 36 weeks and only 5 pounds 10 ounces. He's a little chunker butt now!

He is rolling over to his tummy all the time now, but can not roll back to his back and he gets frustrated after a while on his tummy.

He is exclusively breast fed and has not started solids yet. We will be giving him food in one of those mesh feeder thingy's this week. I will probably start with the fruit we have around the house.

He is teething like CRAZY - (OUCH!) and chewing on everything he can get his hands on. He loves all of his little teether toys.

He has always been a good sleeper. He falls asleep in his swing around 8pm. We bring him to bed with us around 10 or 11 and I feed him. Then he wakes up around 1am to eat and again around 5 or 6am. Then he sleeps until 9 or 10 am and he's up for a while. He takes a good afternoon nap and sometimes a morning nap too. All depends.

What else?

He is getting physical therapy because of his low muscle tone due to his Down Syndrome. He's doing pretty good. We are only concentrating on his upper back muscles right now - those are the weak muscles. His neck is nice and strong. So he is not sitting up yet. He will get there though.

We had a scare about a month ago.
His hands and feet were turning dark grey-ish purple.
Scared the crap outta me!

We took him to the pediatric cardiologist who I saw through my whole pregnancy. If your didn't know, Baby Jack had holes in his heart while I was pregnant with him and his valves both needed to be fixed because they were in the wrong spots. There might have also been an issue with his aorta, but we had to wait til he was born for another echo cardiogram (ultrasound of his heart). This was all going to require between one and three open heart surgeries... but all turned out perfect!
His heart was totally healed!

So... the verdict of the grey/purple hands and feet?
He's FINE!
The doctors did another echo of his heart, an EKG and totally examined him.
He's FINE!
Perfectly healthy. They said that since he has low muscle tone, his blood vessels are weaker than they should be. So the blood vessels have a harder time pumping blood back up to the heart, but it's all okay. Such a relief that my little guy was okay!

Oh and he's babbling  now. His favorite thing to babble is "dadadada" or "babababa". No such luck for "mamama" even though I am the food source and the cuddle source haha.

He loves his Daddy! And Daddy is pretty fond of him too!

Baby Jack with Becca...

He got sick from one of my lovely daycare kids who's mom likes to bring him over to my house sick... and Baby Jack got it. Luckily I was able to knock it out of him with vitamins. We made a trip to immediate care and then to the doctor just to be sure he didn't have RSV or Whooping Cough. He didn't. It was only a cold. And a nasty one too! But as you can see, he was still all smiles!

He's my little snuggle bug. Yes we still co-sleep...  and I love it!

Bad cell phone pics coming up...

This one was funny because he was looking at himself and totally curious:

Gracie LOVES her little brother... and he loves her too!

He can sit in here for a long time before poopin' out!

Buddies!

Did I miss anything?
