Finding Out Baby's Gender?
Really, I could go either way.
No... wait. No I couldn't haha!

I would LOVE to if I could though. I would LOVE to have a home birth and not know the gender and find out when the baby is born. I will never have a home birth though. I had to face reality with Jack's pregnancy... with all of my past complications, I would be too scared to have a home birth.
Another thing that plays in my mind when it comes to making the decision to find out gender or not - do you have little kids of both genders already? If so, then you probably have everything you need for a baby regardless of it's gender, right? So why find out? But if you do not have everything you need... I would most definitely find out the baby's gender!
I'm talking out of my butt actually. I had Austin in 1997 and Emma in 1998 and I STILL HAD TO find out Becca's gender when it came time. I just did not have the strength to wait it out. I did have everything I needed, but chose to know anyway.
Then I had Gracie in 2009 and when I was pregnancy with Jack, I knew the smartest thing to do would be to find out gender so that I could prepare by doing product reviews on everything I needed. It worked out pretty good, I have to say! I did not need to purchase a single thing! So glad I found out his gender!
So what do you think?
Do you find out baby's gender ahead of time? Or can you wait until you give birth and make is a wonderful surprise?

I was not Team Green, I'm impatient. Everyone that I know that was Team Green had a very anti-climatic reveal.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be team green so bad! but then I started shopping.
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my children they were just starting to tell people if they wanted to know. They were not very good at it back then. I didn't want to know. I thought the best part of going through labor would be finding out what you had.
ReplyDeleteActually they wouldn't even let me see the sonogram screen either :( We didn't get those cute pictures either. Even with my second I didn't want to know.
the shopper in me couldnt wait
ReplyDeleteI've done both. And I enjoyed the surprise of Team Green more. I know many people will say that it's still a surprise at your a/s but it is not the same and unless you've done both it's hard to explain.
ReplyDeleteI say YAY! You get more surprises that way - surprise at the US and surprise at the birth when you FINALLY see what LO looks like! I was team green with my first (23 years ago they couldn't definitely tell so you pretty much had to be!) - and I really liked knowing beforehand!
ReplyDeleteI have to know! It's my preference :)
