Baby Jack is 3.5 months old now and he has been looking around and focusing on things for a while now, but recently he really started becoming more interested in the toys that hang in front of him. His arms go up and he seems like he wants to grab at things. I guess it’s time to pull out more of our infant toys to keep his little mind busy.
One of the things I’ve had for him was the Bright Starts Singing Safari Crib Mirror. The folks at KidsII sent it to me a couple of months ago to review but I am just now getting to use it for Jack. He is still sleeping in bed with us since we co-sleep for a minimum of 6 or 7 months but I put him in his crib while I do laundry or shower.
I hooked up the Bright Starts Singing Safari Crib Mirror for him this week and he’s already checking it out!
Bright Starts Singing Safari Crib Mirror Features:
- Baby-safe mirror with fabric frame
- Multiple activities for baby include crinkle leaves, giraffe bead chaser, and zebra roller ball
- Zebra roller ball activates melodies and sounds
- 15 minutes of music featuring short play or long play modes
- Easy attachment straps for use in crib
- Age: Birth and Up
- Requires 2 AA Batteries (not included)

Right now, Jack’s hand bumps the crinkly leaves and he seems to like the sound haha. But Gracie will keep rolling the zebra ball to play the sounds over and over. At the moment I have it set to the shortest play time, I guess I should set it to play longer but it keeps Gracie playing with her brother longer… I can’t wait until he learns how to play with this on his own. Baby Jack starts therapy this coming week and the therapists come to our house to evaluate him and start the therapy he might need and they use the toys he has to work with him. I think this is a toy they will probably use to encourage him to play and touch.
My Thoughts:
I like this the Bright Starts Singing Safari Crib Mirror because it does so much. The crinkly leaves, the beads and the roller ball that activates the music is great. And of course mirrors are always great and keeps babies (and even my pre-schooler) busy! This is also very easy to hang. It is a simple strap with a buckle that attaches to the crib bar. Much easier than some of the other crib toys we have had.
BUY IT:
The Bright Starts Singing Safari Crib Mirror can be purchased at Amazon.com and Target for around $16.99.

I bet this would be great for therapy! Such bright colors and textures. I'm expecting in February, so I'll have to check this out for our crib :) Thanks for sharing!

I just bought this for my 3 month old as well. It's nice when he's awake, but sometimes he accidentally turns on the music when he's drifting off to sleep and we can't figure out how to turn it off! It seems that the music has to play out for 15 minutes before shutting off. Is this an issue with anyone else, or are we missing something really obvious?
ReplyDeleteMine won't do short play either:( But my boy who is 3&1/2 mos. loves it!
