Coconut Cream Orange Popsicles… YUM!
Sounds so good, doesn’t it?
Hang in there, you'll find the recipe below!
First, I want to tell you about Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate:
I have to admit, I have never used coconut CREAM before, let alone Coconut Cream Concentrate. I’ve only used coconut OIL. At first I thought they were the same thing. But then I read about Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate and found some great info:
Blend bananas, coconut cream, and oil together until smooth and well blended.
Add remaining ingredients and blend to combine.
Pour into the mold and freeze for at least 4 hours.
***My mixer would not mix the bananas, coconut cream and coconut oil because it was too thick, so I combined all of the ingredients and mixed them all in one step.
YUM!
These popsicles turned out great, however, we can not taste the coconut flavor and the banana over powers the orange.
I am planning on re-doing this recipe and changing some of the ingredients around. I want to use less bananas, more milk and coconut.
I'd like to see if that change turns this recipe into more of an 'orange dreamsicle'-type flavor (with a hint of coconut).
Either way - TRY THIS RECIPE!! It's fantastic!!

First, I want to tell you about Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate:
What is Coconut Cream Concentrate?
“Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It contains no additives* (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground very finely, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil.”
I have to admit, I have never used coconut CREAM before, let alone Coconut Cream Concentrate. I’ve only used coconut OIL. At first I thought they were the same thing. But then I read about Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate and found some great info:
-
Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate is a food, not an oil. (I had no idea!)
-
Commercial coconut milks and creams are sold in cans and boxes and the main ingredient is water.
-
Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate has NO WATER and is PURE COCONUT which contains all the fiber of the coconut, unlike the commercial brands.
- Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate contains more fiber per gram than even oat bran (<-----Crazy! I had NO IDEA!)
-
Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate contains NO additives and NO preservatives.
-
Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate is 100% natural coconut made from certified organic Philippine coconuts grown without pesticides or fertilizers.
I’ve tried so many products from Tropical Traditions and I am in love with each and every one of them. I was excited to have the opportunity to review their Coconut Cream Concentrate.
When I first received the Coconut Cream Concentrate, I had no idea what I was going to do with it. For a while we were using it for hot chocolate and coffee. We just stir in a couple of spoonful's and it tastes so good!
I visited Tropical Traditions Free Coconut Recipes and viewed their recipes that specifically use Coconut Cream Concentrate and there are so many that I want to try: http://www.freecoconutrecipes.com/coconut_cream_concentrate.htm.
The recipe I chose to try was…
Coconut Cream Orange Popsicles
-
2 ripe bananas
-
1 oz coconut cream concentrate, soft (I just used a large spoonful)
-
1 oz coconut oil, melted (I just used a large spoonful)
-
1 cup orange juice
-
1/2 cup milk
Blend bananas, coconut cream, and oil together until smooth and well blended.
Add remaining ingredients and blend to combine.
Pour into the mold and freeze for at least 4 hours.
***My mixer would not mix the bananas, coconut cream and coconut oil because it was too thick, so I combined all of the ingredients and mixed them all in one step.
